Malaysia has continued to defy a turbulent global backdrop, posting steady growth even as geopolitical tensions, elevated oil prices, and trade uncertainty weigh on much of the world. In the first quarter of 2026, the economy expanded 5.4 per cent year-on-year, building on 5.2 per cent growth recorded in both 2024 and 2025.
